Professor Jeff Fadiman has 38 years of on-site African experience.




Educated: Universities of Stanford, Vienna, Berlin, Wisconsin,
Uganda. Degrees in Journalism, African Area Study, African Education,
Tropical History. Fluent in German, French, Swahili. Learning Swazi-Zulu,
Malay-Indonesian, Spanish. (First) Fulbright Scholarship: Kenya.

Teaching: Lectures in three academic disciplines (Global Marketing,
African History, African Education). Currently Tenured Professor of
Global Marketing, (California). Formerly Tenured Professor of Tropical
History (Michigan). Awards: Outstanding, Undergrad., Graduate Professor
Training: U.S. State Department, training officials (USIA, USAID,
State, Defense) assigned to Africa.

Publishing: Forty Two publications in three academic disciplines
(Global Marketing, African History, International Relations), including four
books. Three of these selected by "choice", a guide to significant U.S.
publications. One (in African History) nominated for national book award.
Book in Press: "Black" Market: How To Do Business With South Africa's
Africans.

Field Research: Fadiman is more than an academic. He draws
from years of hands-on experience.
East Africa: Three Years secondary school teaching (Uganda,
Tanzania). Seven years organizing and leading wild life safaris (Kenya).
One year, Mt. Kenya, conducting 3l4 oral history interviews.
Southern Africa: Field research in Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana,
South Africa. Curriculum Development, Ministry of Education, Swaziland.
(Second) Fulbright Scholarship, University of Zululand, South Africa

Focus: Using African methods in African Markets. Public
presentations: U.S. State Department, U.S. Navy, Commonwealth Club of
California, World Affairs Club of California, Stanford Research Institute,
Universities in U.S., U.K., Africa. His role: To provide specific reasons as
to how/why US and African colleagues clash within commercial settings,
then pragmatic methods to resolve the conflicts that arise.
